This site has activities involving numbers.

(Of course, any site is technically about numbers because of binary code!)

This site is called J’s Number News because I’m J and it’s my number news! Alternatively, you can interpret it as JS Number News: Javascript Number News.

**Using code to enjoy numbers**

What sets us apart is we have a small activities page plus a page that calculates the first 104 numbers in the Fibonacci sequence, and boy do they get large fast! For example, try figuring out the hundredth number in the Fibonacci sequence? One time on vacation I tried doing so. I made one small math error and the whole thing fell apart.

Then I tried running it with code. Worked like a charm.

In my opinion this shows that people and computers have certain skills in math. A computer is easier able to isolate the numbers specifically and calculate them up. However a person is required not only to program it and provide the inputs and figure out what numbers you’re even searching for.

Even though we’re currently working on AI it probably wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between 10 rubber ducks and 20 tug boats and 20 yellow ducks and 20 yellow tugboats. A person can act as an interpreter.

You can think of a computer as the ears and the people as the translators. The people can bring information back and forth and the ears interpret the information they receive.
